The Job
Savage Society, an Indigenous-led arts organization, is accepting proposals from individuals or companies to provide website management, content creation and graphic design services. This role involves maintaining and updating our WordPress site and assisting with the creation of assets for content for social media and web projects. Be part of a dynamic, creative team passionate about Indigenous arts and storytelling, and contribute to meaningful projects that showcase our work and engage our community.

You are a creative and tech-savvy individual who thrives on crafting visually compelling content and maintaining seamless web experiences. Passionate about storytelling and design, you enjoy collaborating with teams to bring projects to life while taking ownership of your tasks. You value contributing to meaningful work that amplifies Indigenous arts and culture, and your adaptability allows you to balance independent projects with occasional in-person event support.
Self-identifying as Indigenous and/or having first-hand knowledge or experience living in and/or working with Indigenous communities will be considered an asset.· iy.
Key responsibilities include
- Maintain and update WordPress content
- Manage plugins and oversee website security
- Perform routine backups and troubleshooting with FullHost
- Update homepage video backgrounds (basic video editing skills are a plus)
- Develop social media and web graphics in collaboration with the Savage Society team
- Create engaging visual content (graphics, videos) that aligns with our projects and social media campaigns
- Implement quarterly content updates and manage occasional major revisions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive content development across the website and social platforms
Qualifications
- Experience with WordPress
- Knowledge of web hosting, security, and plugin management
- Basic video editing skills for updating site visuals
- Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is an asset
- Portfolio or examples demonstrating your design abilities
- Knowledge of Indigenous communities, non-profits, or the arts/theatre sector is a plus
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a small team
- A commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety
Assets
- Experience in the arts and/or not for Profit
- First-hand knowledge or experience living in and/or working with Indigenous communities
- experience with web-based software and services (e.g., Zoom, Dropbox, Google Suite)
